Biographical/Historical Note:
Charles “Chuck” Graham Hixon III (1949- ) was born on December 22, 1949. He entered Georgia Military Academy in September, 1963 when his father became head football coach and graduated in May, 1967. At GMA Chuck was a member of the football and baseball teams and received numerous athletic and academic awards. He was also the last cadet commander at the final GMA parade in 1967. He earned his undergraduate degree at Georgia Tech, an M.A. at Emory, and his Ph.D. at Georgia State University. Hixon returned to teach and coach at Woodward in 1971, served as Chairman of the Math Department, and in the 1990s became the first Director of Instructional Computing.

Scope and Content:
The collection consists of 17 uniform artifacts used by Hixon as a GMA cadet, 1963-1967. The artifacts include one brass buckle, two GMA brass insignias, two ROTC brass insignias, and one nameplate.
